When and how often does my school want me to stop by the career center?

When you feel like you need to.

As early into your time as a student as possible. Utilize the CRC and Career Development site first to ensure adequate preparation for your consultation. Consultation is by appointment only.

After consulting the Career Development site extensively set up an appointment by the end of your second semester.

Make this your initial contact for all career consultation needs. A minimum of two contacts will be made. One at the beginning of practicum and one before internship.

As often as needed with the primary contact being the advisor assigned by the program. Contact needs to be made at least by your last semester.

After using the Career Development website and the CRC.

1Ls should come once a month after Nov. 1. 2Ls and 3Ls should make a monthly appointment. Law Career Services is open daily.

At the very least, plan to stop by the COM career office three times each semester – preferably at the beginning, middle, and end of the semester.  You are encouraged to visit more often as you work through your internship and job searches.
