Mock Interviews

The Career Services Office an affiliate of the Center for Student Development (CSD) provides “practice” interviews for all students at Regent University. Practice interviews are half in hour practice sessions with a staff member. These simulated experiences can occur in-person, over the telephone, or on-line with the purpose to improve your interviewing skills and provide you with feedback to prepare for professional interviews. To schedule a practice interview, email careerservices@regent.edu, with the subject matter “Practice Interview” and three days and times that you are available for the experience. Please allow at least 48 business hours for a response.

The Career Services Office also provides “MOCK” interviews for all students at Regent University. These practice interviews are 15 minute interviews with representatives from various organizations. These simulated experiences occur in-person with the purpose to “hone” your interviewing skills and provide you with additional feedback to enhance your interviewing skills. To schedule a Mock interview, call 757.352.4927 or email careerservices@regent.edu, with the subject matter “Mock Interview” and the best time for a staff member to call back and schedule. Please allow at least 48 business hours for a response.

Please note the following:

Distance students: Please use our (self-paced, no cost) Interviewing website and sign up to do a “Practice Interview” as Mock Interviews are not available at this time.
Law students: Mock interviews are available to Law students through a different program. Please contact Kathy Stull in your Career Services Office to register for a Law mock interview.

How to sign up:

Select a job description from below that best matches the job you are looking for. If you absolutely cannot work with any of the job descriptions provided, please contact Career Services to discuss submitting an alternative job description before signing up for an appointment. Alternative job descriptions must be approved before you can sign up.
Blocks of appointment times have been reserved for students. Contact the Career Services office (careerservices@regent.edu) by the 4/08/12 deadline to reserve that timeslot and the job description for which you will be interviewed.
Adapt your resume as necessary to make it apparent that you are a good candidate for the selected job and submit it electronically to careerservices@regent.edu no later than two days before your interview. NOTE: This deadline must be strictly observed to have interviews run smoothly.
Prepare for your interview carefully, using these provided guidelines.
Come to the designated location, given in your confirmation email, ten minutes before your interview appointment for a short orientation.
