Showcase of Global Innovations 2011:
Harnessing the Power of Online Learning

Learning Circles pdf
Ms. Ginger Zillges, Assistant Vice President for Online Learning & Instructional Technology
Profile

Introductory Remarks:
Ginger ZillgesMy interest in technology came later in life. This did not develop from my amazing technical prowess, trust me. Rather, my dealings with technology evolved out of my curiosity and love of learning. Technology enables access to knowledge networks that might otherwise not have been encountered. That is what is so powerful, but we want to harness that power with wisdom. And as you well know the learning never stops. Even as we gather today, we come to learn from one another. We gather in unity to pause, reflect and share. Our motto is Christian Leadership to Change the World and our Quality Enhancement Plan is about achieving global competence and global reach. One way to accomplish both is through the vehicle of online learning. The speakers you are about to hear today overlook the limitations and imagine the possibilities of teaching and learning online, and they are wise and they have a genuine love and concern for their students.
