Regent Library Book Club: The House on Mango Street.

Harold Henkel, Associate Librarian at the Regent Library, is the contact person for the Regent Library Book Club. On Friday, February 18th, at 12:00 p.m. in the Library Conference Room, the Library Book Club will discuss The House on Mango Street, by Mexican-American author Sandra Cisneros.

First published in 1984, The House on Mango Street has been translated all over the world and is widely recognized as a modern classic coming-of-age story. The novel takes the form of a series of vignettes, told by Esperanza Cordero, a young girl growing up in a poor Latino neighborhood in Chicago. The House on Mango Street is only 110 pages long and can be read in one sitting. The Library has several copies, and a free except is available by contacting Harold Henkel at harohen@regent.edu.
