Regent Library Book Club: The House on Mango Street.

The House on Mango Street by Sandra CisnerosHarold Henkel, Associate Librarian at the Regent Library, is the contact person for the Regent Library Book Club. On Friday, February 18th, at 12:00 p.m. in the Library Conference Room, the Library Book Club will discuss The House on Mango Street, by Mexican-American author Sandra Cisneros.

First published in 1984, The House on Mango Street has been translated all over the world and is widely recognized as a modern classic coming-of-age story. The novel takes the form of a series of vignettes, told by Esperanza Cordero, a young girl growing up in a poor Latino neighborhood in Chicago. The House on Mango Street is only 110 pages long and can be read in one sitting. The Library has several copies, and a free except is available by contacting Harold Henkel at harohen@regent.edu.
