Associate of Arts (A.A. Degree): Programs Offered
The Associate of Arts degree program at Regent University allows you to complete the first half of your university education in an environment that is both academically rewarding and distinctly Christian. All programs are offered on campus, online or a combination of both. With an emphasis on communication, analysis, critical thinking, information retrieval and worldview studies, this degree program will help you gain the foundational knowledge you will need, as well as prepare you for a life of Christian excellence.
Graduates of the Associate of Arts program complete the courses typically required in the first two years of a baccalaureate degree and may elect to transfer that credit to a four-year bachelor's program or utilize their degree to begin a new career in any number of fields. The program also allows you to take courses in an area of concentrated study. Specialties include:
Educational Goals
Students will be able to:
- Demonstrate understanding of the foundational elements of a Christian worldview. Students will report growth in their understanding of the Christian faith
- Demonstrate a foundational ability to apply reasoning to solve problems
- Demonstrate at a foundational level the ability to write about an idea and defend it in a logical and organized manner
- Demonstrate ability at a foundational level to present concepts and arguments orally in organized and logical ways as effective speakers
- Demonstrate through their participation in course-related forums the sharing of ideas and mutual support.
- Develop quality relationships with other students, faculty, and administrators
- In solving problems, students will demonstrate a foundational ability to select, interpret, analyze, and synthesize information
