As It Is in Heaven

By Arlene Hutton
Directed by Eric Harrell
October 6-8 & 13-15, 2023
Dede Robertson Theatre

Fanny’s arrival disrupts the routine of life and worship among the 1830s Shaker society in Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. When she starts seeing angels, and the other young women follow suit with similar spiritual experiences, her motives and honesty are questioned. The leaders are forced to grapple with the authenticity of these gifts, and what it means if they haven’t received them too. Heavenly hymns accompany earthly chores in this compelling drama.

Throw in a kidney stone, food poisoning, an uncooperative cast, a family secret and an Elvis impersonator, and hilarity ensues. Can the family pull together? Can love prevail? Can the pageant be saved? Don’t miss this gut-busting Christmas comedy!
