The 2nd International Conference on Integrating Spirituality and Organizational Leadership will be held February 9-12, 2009, at the University of Pondicherry in Pondicherry, India.

The International Research Workshop on Spiritual and Ethical Foundations of Organizational Development will also be held at the University of Pondicherry on February 5-7, 2009.

The language for both the conference and workshop will be English.

About the Conference
The conference builds on the success of the 1st International Conference held in February 2007 and will again bring together leading scholars from the USA, Europe and Asia to systematically explore the nature, determination and implications of the spiritual dimensions of organizational leadership. The conference strives to bring together different perspectives, disciplines and spiritual traditions. Some practical, action-oriented suggestions are expected to be born for integrating spirituality into organizational activity.

The conference is aimed at an exchange of ideas and concepts among a broader group including:

• Academicians
• Business leaders
• Representatives from business associations, i.e., CII, FIICI
• Representatives from civil society
• Representatives from religious organizations

The conference will include both oral presentations and poster sessions. Proposals for poster presentations and abstracts for oral presentations must be received by November 30, 2008.  Notifications of acceptance will be provided by December 15, 2008. Full papers will then be due by January 15, 2009.

About the Workshop

Because there is a prime need to discuss the issues at the doctoral level in order to encourage research initiatives aiming at integrating spirituality and management, the workshop aims to bring together research scholars from the USA, Europe and Asia to systematically explore and map the field of spirituality in organizational leadership from different perspectives, disciplines and spiritual traditions.

The workshop provides an opportunity for scholars to meet and discuss on-going or proposed research projects directed at better understanding the nature and implications of spirituality in organizational settings. It will provide an opportunity for formation of collaborative relationships aimed at building a formal research base addressing multiple aspects of spirituality in organizations and in organizational leadership. Participants in the workshop will present their projects and studies in a roundtable format.

The workshop preceding the conference is aimed primarily toward university researchers, faculty, doctoral students and personnel working in related research projects and NGOs.

The research workshop will include only oral presentations.  Please note that works-in-progress are encouraged for the workshop. Abstracts must be submitted to the conference organizers by November 30, 2008. Notification of acceptance will be provided by December 15, 2008. Full papers will then be due by January 15, 2009.
