This collection of papers highlights the current state of the art of cybersecurity and it will mainly appeal to practitioners in the cybersecurity industry and college faculty and students in the disciplines of cybersecurity, information systems, information technology, and computer science.

Regent University Shares Tips for Protecting Electronic Devices

Regent University's Engineering & Computer Science department shared cybersecurity tips with Southside Daily’s local online news website for their article titled, "Here's how you can protect your electronic devices – Diligence need to keep personal information safe." The article focused on things people should and should not do to secure their personal computers against malware, viruses, and hackers looking to access their personal information. The author, Rami Yoakum, wanted to provide basic tips for people that may not have great computer and technology skills. The article was featured on May 17, 2018.

Regent Professor Addresses Virginia Ship Repair Association

On 22 February, Professor Saur of the Regent Department of Engineering and Computer Science, addressed a meeting of the Virginia Ship Repair Association as part of Regent’s ongoing outreach and interaction with local industry. His talk focused on the personal aspects of cybersecurity as they relate to our use of technology in our everyday life; using cell phones for purchases, online banking, social media, etc.


mode5 President Addresses Regent Students

On 21 February, Mr. Luke Downing, President of mode5 IT Support Company, spoke at Regent’s February Engineering and Computer Science Forum. In his talk, Mr. Downing covered the many ways that cyber attacks can impact small businesses, and the many ways in which mode5, as an IT support company, works to support their small business clients.
