What is a sports management degree?

A degree in sports management prepares you to fulfill the duties of a sports manager, including organizing, budgeting, or marketing for any organization within the athletics field.

A sports manager is on the business side of sports rather than the coach who trains the players. Sports management can involve public relations, fundraising, and event organization.

What can you do with a sports management degree?

A business sports management program can prepare you to work across the sports industry. Upon completing your degree, you can work in various areas, including:

  • Team Management
  • Sports Marketing
  • Event Coordination
  • Public Relations
  • Athletic Executive Leadership

Because the skills you learn in sports management are cross-functional, it’s also a great degree to break into other entertainment industries.
