Message from the Dean
At Regent University School of Law, we educate and cultivate purpose-driven, practice-ready attorneys who will make a difference in the world. We are serious about the law, serious about our faith, and committed to pursuing our calling together in a distinctly Christian community.
As a Regent Law graduate, professor, and now dean, I have experienced firsthand what makes this place special. Our students receive an excellent legal education while joining a community that cares deeply about who they are becoming and how God may use their lives in service to others.
That begins with our exceptional faculty. The Princeton Review ranks Regent Law No. 2 in the nation for professor accessibility and No. 9 for teaching quality. Our professors are accomplished scholars and practitioners who have served at the highest levels of government, regulation, advocacy, public service, and the judiciary. They will challenge you to think carefully, communicate persuasively, and perform at your highest level. Just as importantly, they will know you, mentor you, pray for you, and invest personally in your development. I cannot imagine another law faculty that cares more about its students.
That same spirit shapes the Regent Law community. Here, students are encouraged to seek God’s calling above personal ambition, pursue spiritual formation alongside professional preparation, and value diligence, resilience, and growth over raw talent alone. We strive for excellence without viewing one another merely as competitors. Instead, students encourage and sharpen one another as they become the people and professionals God has called them to be.
This culture does not come at the expense of measurable achievements — it fuels them.
Regent Law is ranked No. 91 by U.S. News & World Report, rising 56 places in five years. Our newest incoming class entered with a median LSAT of 160 and a median undergraduate GPA above 3.7. Our public policy and human rights offerings have been ranked No. 1 in the nation by preLaw Magazine, and our moot court program ranks among the top nine nationally.
Our graduates are also achieving remarkable results. The Class of 2025 attained a 96% employment rate within 10 months of graduation, and 25% secured judicial clerkships, placing Regent Law No. 7 nationally for judicial clerkships and No. 26 for federal clerkships. Our graduates exceeded the national average for first-time bar passage by approximately 10 percentage points in both 2024 and 2025. In 2024, they posted the highest first-time pass rate on the Virginia bar among the Commonwealth’s law schools and ranked No. 39 nationally.
At Regent Law, you will put your education into practice long before graduation. Through the Singer Center for Advocacy, the Robertson Center for Constitutional Law, the Center for Global Justice, our legal clinics, and internships and externships, students develop practical skills while serving real clients and addressing consequential legal issues.
Thousands of Regent Law alumni now serve throughout all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and more than 20 countries. They argue before the United States Supreme Court, serve as judges and judicial clerks, work in government and private practice, lead organizations, and advocate for people and communities in need of justice.
Whatever you are called to do, we want to prepare you to pursue it with wisdom, skill, excellence, and integrity. I invite you to explore our J.D. and other law programs, learn more about our community, and discover the opportunities available at Regent Law.
But don’t just take my word for it. Come visit us and experience the heart of Regent Law for yourself.
