The Leadership concentration in the Associate of Arts (A.A.) introduces students to the basic principles, concepts and personal skills needed by ethical leaders in twenty-first century organizations. Courses present the major styles of leadership, the functions and principles of management, group and team dynamics, the behaviors and skills needed for effective communication as a leader, and models and approaches for ethical analysis of personal and organizational decisions. Opportunities are provided for self-assessment of skills and calling as an organizational leader. This concentration prepares students for moving beyond entry-level organizational positions, leadership roles in their chosen careers, or for continuing toward a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Management or other disciplines. The courses in the concentration will promote the following learning outcomes:
