Each year, Regent University and the School of Education honor local teachers by hosting Salute to Teachers. During the 20th annual event, the area’s top public and private school educators will be recognized.
Teachers will be honored on stage and receive:
- A certificate of achievement
- 25 percent scholarship to Regent’s School of Education
- Entry in door prize giveaway from our sponsors
- One lucky winner: 100 percent scholarship to Regent’s School of Education
This invitation-only event lasts about 2 1/2 hours. If you’re a Teacher of the Year or principal from a Region II school and have not received an invitation by mail, please call Ashley Rombs at 757.802.1583.
You’ll enjoy:
- Hors d’oeuvres while you register and mingle
- A photo booth with props
- Dinner and dessert
- Live music during dinner

The event is held in the beautiful Virginia ballroom at The Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach. Please see the map for directions.
From registration to end of closing remarks, it usually lasts 2 1/2 hours.
The evening begins with star treatment upon your arrival. You’ll enjoy hors d’oeuvres, red-carpet photo opportunities, video interviews conducted by a local news anchor and a photo booth with amusing props – all while you check in and mingle with local educators, leaders and business people. Ballroom doors open at 6 p.m. to the sounds of a live jazz band as guests take their seats for dinner and the award ceremony. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the night.

The event is business attire preferred.
Salute to Teachers is free to school administrators, Teachers of the Year and the personal guest of each Teacher of the Year. If you would like to bring additional guests, the cost is $30 per person.
