COMMISSIONING CEREMONY DETAILS

Date & Time: Friday, May 8, 2020, 7 p.m.

Congratulations! You have made it to graduation. We are excited that you have decided to join us for our virtual Commissioning service.

The service that will be streamed on this page will prayerfully commission you to serve the world as a Christian leader in your chosen field. The schedule includes:

  • A welcome
  • An address from the Dean
  • Academic award recipients
  • Congratulatory remarks from our Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño
  • A commissioning address from our Founder and Chancellor, Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson
  • Closing and prayer

To commission someone is “to entrust, or to give authority” or “to appoint or assign to a task or function.” At graduation you leave from Regent with training and preparation, to go out into the world and fulfill the call God has on your life (Isaiah 61:1-3). Within the context of our graduation, commissioning is a sacred and holy time of consecration, reflection and prayer.

Graduates do not need to RSVP for the virtual Commissioning ceremony. If you have regalia, we encourage you to wear it and celebrate with us. For those who would like to order it, the Oak Hall website [Regent.shopoakhalli.com] “ship to home” option was reactivated at 5 p.m. on April 23, 2020. Orders must be placed by May 20, 2020.

CONTACT INFORMATION

Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions. You may contact Diane Morgan at 757.352.4220 or mmorgan@regent.edu.

We pray for strength and wisdom as you complete the final weeks of the semester and encourage you to finish strong!

Commencement 2020 is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2020. In order to protect the health and well-being of our students and all in attendance, Regent University will move its Commencement ceremony to a virtual format. The ceremony will be streamed so that graduates, friends, and families can participate from all over the world.
