Ph.D. Michael Crews

Faculty

Michael Crews, Ph.D.

Department Chair, Associate Professor, English & Communication Studies

Bio

Dr. Crews received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he also briefly taught as an adjunct. He received his doctorate from Baylor University. He has been teaching at Regent University since the fall of 2014.

Crews’ research interests include Cormac McCarthy and American literature. “In my teaching, I attempt to integrate faith and learning seamlessly. My goal is to encourage an approach to literature and writing that essentially denies the existence of a line between the academic discipline and faith,” he says.

Born in Louisiana, Crews grew up in the west Texas town of El Paso. He spent most of his childhood and much of his adult life in the desert city. He lives in Portsmouth with his wife, Denise, and their two children.
