Ph.D. Henry L. Singletary, Jr.



Henry L. Singletary, Jr. serves as Assistant Professor of Accounting in the School of Business & Leadership at Regent University. Henry earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Campbell University, a Certificate in Accounting from Prince George’s Community College, his Masters of Science in Taxation from Bentley University and his Masters of Accountancy degree from Stetson University. He holds a Ph.D. in Advanced Accounting from Northcentral University. 

Dr. Singletary brings a wealth of business and accounting experience to the classroom. Before his time at Regent University, he served at the University of Mount Olive as an Assistant Professor of Accounting for seven years, including three years as the Department Chair of Accounting and Finance. Dr. Singletary owned his own CPA business and served as the CPA for his family medical billing service, which was located in Southern Maryland. Before owning his own business, he was a Branch Manager and Bank Officer at a local bank for five years. In his first job out of college, he served as an assistant manager at a retail store for eighteen months. In addition to holding a Certified Public Accountant license, he also holds an IRS Enrolled Agent Card and previously held a Real Estate Salesperson license and Series 6 Investment License while working in Maryland. He also served as a Board Member at Grace Christian School and was a member of the Blue Ribbon Diversity Commission in Charles County, Maryland. He also served as an Assistant Golf Coach and Baseball Coach at Grace Christian School as well as a chess teacher and league coordinator for the Prince George’s County Public Schools and Public Libraries. He also has served in the past as an Elder at his church. In addition to his duties as a professor, he served as the sponsor of the Accounting Club, Chess Club, and IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at his previous university. Dr. Singletary’s dissertation and research interest are in the area of ethics in accounting and taxation. Dr. Singletary is married to his wife of twenty-eight years and has four grown children and one grandchild. 

He holds memberships in the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants-AICPA, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants-MACPA, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants-NCACPA.
