Regent Closed Monday, Oct. 29

| October 27, 2012

In anticipation of the impacts from Hurricane Sandy, Regent University will be closed on Monday, Oct. 29. This closing includes all classroom buildings, the Student Center and the University Library. All classes and events are cancelled. Essential personnel should report as usual.

Potential impacts on southeastern Virginia, including Virginia Beach, are still unclear although strong winds and heavy rain are expected Sunday and continuing into Monday.

Students living in Regent housing have been receiving instructions on hurricane preparedness, and the university's Emergency Response Committee is maintaining close communication with regional emergency management sources. Grounds and facilities personnel are making preparations for the tropical storm force winds and rain that are likely to impact Virginia Beach.

Updates for Regent students and employees will be posted to the Regent website as needed. Updates will also be available on the Regent Inclement Weather hotline at 757-352-4777.

Check the National Weather Service website for updates on Hurricane Sandy.
