This World-Class Expert Delivers a World of Knowledge and Skill to Cybersecurity Training

That’s exactly what you’ll find under the leadership of Don Murdoch, GSE, MSISE, MBA, assistant director of Regent University’s Institute for Cybersecurity.

Murdoch brings a deep IT and security knowledge to the institute as a SANS GIAC Security Expert (GSE) – the top-tier credential in the field of Information Technology.

“Don Murdoch’s experience and knowledge as a GSE-certified cybersecurity professional is a testament to the caliber of our faculty and the excellence of our programming,” said Dr. Moreno-Riaño, executive vice president for academic affairs at Regent. “We are thankful that he has joined our campus to continue Regent’s advancement in training industry-leading professionals to counteract cyber attacks.”

Murdoch joined Regent’s Institute for Cybersecurity shortly before the university’s B.S. in Cybersecurity program earned the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE).

Murdoch’s professional resume includes work with SLAIT Consulting as its chief security architect, a consultant/instructor/security architecture course lead for Expanding Security LLC, and Director II Technology for Fortune 50 Healthcare.

Additionally, Murdoch is the author of the Blue Team Handbook: Incident Response Edition, a well-versed “field guide” for cybersecurity experts.

Murdoch received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Old Dominion University; he earned his MBA from Old Dominion University; and also obtained his Master’s in Information Security Engineering (MSISE) from SANS Technology Institute.
