VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (November 2, 2020) – For nearly 20 years, the Regent University Center for Entrepreneurship (RCE) has worked to improve the economic and spiritual condition of disadvantaged populations globally through entrepreneurship grounded in a Christian worldview. RCE accomplishes this mission primarily through licensed business development centers (BDCs) in nine countries. The newest Center is BDC Tanzania, licensed to Kingdom Leadership Institute (KLI).
To celebrate the partnership and bring key business leaders together to propel the role of Christ-centered entrepreneurship in the country, KLI is hosting a Kingdom Leadership Summit Program and launch event in Tanzania on November 11, 2020. Dr. John Mulford, RCE director and Regent professor will serve as honored guest, speaker, and session moderator at the prestigious event. Confirmed guests include the former Prime Minister of Tanzania, members of the Ministry of Industry & Trade & Economic Empowerment & Investments, Tanzania National Business Council, hundreds of local entrepreneurs and church leaders, as well as C-level corporate leaders.
“Scripture says to ask God, and He will give us nations. This partnership with KLI is an answer to our request,” said Mulford. “We get to integrate economic principles with Kingdom principles that will bring far-reaching transformation.”
Under the theme of “Nurturing Leaders as World Changers,” keynote speaker Jason Benedict, president of Touchstone Business Solutions, will share on how to approach the practice of business as a kingdom mission and consider God’s plan for work and business. Benedict is an RCE strategist who works as an enterprise development consultant. Other speakers will provide local perspectives on business opportunities through breakout sessions and a panel discussion. Panel speakers include Ruth Zaipuna, CEO of National Microfinance Bank; Dr. Joe Mzuanda, managing director of Jambo Freight Ltd.; Dr. Godwill George Wanga, executive secretary of Tanzania National Business Council; and Anael Samuel, CEO of Songas Limited.
KLI is dedicated to fostering moral leadership in Africa by developing and encouraging leaders in honest dealings and ethical governing. Its primary mission is to “develop African leaders in business, government and politics capable of transforming the national leadership and economies through innovation, entrepreneurship and investment to enable world class competition in the global marketplace.”
KLI is the economic and investment branch of a larger organization called the Kingdom Leadership Network Tanzania (KLNT). KLNT pursues strong African leadership by identifying, training and aiding potential leaders. Both entities work primarily through eight different platforms to achieve their united goals. Regent’s BDC is the newest of these platforms, launching in November 2020.
Through the Regent partnership, KLI/KLNT will be able to provide the leaders they are mentoring with a 14-week entrepreneurship program developed by Regent as well as several shorter courses on economics. Mulford and the BDC team are eager to pour into KLI leaders in an effort to revitalize and empower nations.
