Regent’s Online Bachelor’s Program Named “Best for Veterans”

For the second year in a row, Regent University’s Online Bachelor’s degree programs were listed as among the “Best for Military Veterans” by the U.S. News & World Report, 2016 annual ranking.

Regent’s online programming ranked 15th in a list of nearly 200 universities with online courses. Regent was ranked above schools such as Old Dominion University, Berkley College and Virginia Commonwealth University.

“The Regent University mission and values are aligned with the traditions of the military, and it’s recognized by the military community for a solid education and a supportive environment for veterans and service members transitioning from the military,” said José Roman, assistant director of Regent’s Office of Military & Veterans Affairs. “Our initiative is on a mission to be the number-one resource to empower not only our military service members in Hampton Roads or Virginia, but around the country.”

Roman explained that Regent’s Military & Veterans Affairs office makes an impact in the Hampton Roads community through its engagement and events on campus, but also through the family members of active duty service members.

Earlier this month, Regent’s academic programs were also selected by the SR Education Group as #13 on their 2016 Top Yellow Ribbon Online Schools on their Guide to Online Schools.

“Our office is always available to all our students, online or on-campus. Our military affiliated students get to know our staff by name,” said Roman. “We make a connection whether via e-mail to Afghanistan or anywhere in the country; we become a one-stop shop to answer questions and provide resources for our students.”
