Israeli Embassy Bringing “Beyond Duty” Holocaust Exhibit to Regent University

Beyond duty: Diplomats recognized as Righteous Among the Nations. From October 10-23, a special traveling exhibit titled, “Beyond Duty: Diplomats Recognized as Righteous Among the Nations,” will open for public viewing at the Regent University Library Atrium (1000 Regent University Drive Virginia Beach).

“Beyond Duty” is a traveling memorial exhibit honoring the lives of 36 diplomats who risked their lives and the safety of their families to save countless Jews during the Holocaust. Curated by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibit originally launched in Jerusalem on International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27, 2018) and is now traveling to 70 locations around the world and in twenty different languages.

“As we continue to support of the nation of Israel, CBN is delighted to honor the memory of those ‘righteous diplomats’ who sacrificed everything in the name of affirming humanity,” said CBN founder and chairman and Regent founder, chancellor and CEO, Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson. “We look forward in taking part of this important memorial as it makes its way through North America.”

The local exhibit is co-sponsored by Regent University and the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), in partnership with the Embassy of Israel.

“Regent University and CBN are honored to be a part of recognizing the moral courage of these 36 diplomats,” said CBN CEO Gordon Robertson. “Putting their careers and families at risk, they chose to act against their own governments’ policy and help Jews escape the horrors of the holocaust. May they always be remembered as Righteous Among the Nations.”

“Beyond Duty” will be open to public viewing from October 10-23, 2018. Exhibition hours will run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please email events@regent.edu or call 888.372.1006.

“Now more than ever, it is critical that we learn from the leaders of our past who were bold in the face of unmitigated peril,” said Dr. Gerson Moreno-Riaño, executive vice president for academic affairs of Regent University. “We are honored to host this important exhibition at Regent to inspire our community of future Christian leaders to carry that same courage in the midst of great trials.”
