Gregory L. Stewart, Ph.D.

Regent University’s adjunct professors are rigorously selected so that they help students grow in knowledge and faith. These professors, who teach on a contractual basis, must be dedicated to Christ-centered teaching and learning; have a record of or potential for academic scholarship; possess the ability to teach undergraduate-level and/or graduate-level courses, and embrace Regent’s Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.

Bio

Dr. Gregory Stewart is currently the clinical case manager at Cedar Crest Hospital & Residential Treatment Center, working with adolescent females who have experienced severe trauma and/or the loss of relationship with one or both biological parents. In addition, he sees over 20 clients per week in private practice. He is also an online instructor for master’s and doctoral students in the Counseling Ministries Department in the School of Psychology & Counseling at Regent University. He holds a B.A. in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision (Regent University, 2008). His dissertation was The Relationship of Emotional Intelligence with Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment.

As an online instructor, Stewart has taught several courses in psychology, counseling, management and leadership. He brings both an understanding of theoretical underpinnings balanced with a solid approach to application and implementation. He is known for understanding systems, networking with people to create synergy within the organization, and is gifted at making the complex simple. He has deep insight into counseling theory, theoretical application, and has practiced and trained extensively in the integration of faith and practice.

Stewart has led and served as the executive administrator for large nonprofit organizations, where he learned how to change systems from the inside, creating and sustain change through interpersonal influence, teaching, training and networking. As an organizational development strategist for over 10 years, he has worked with several different industries, several different sizes of organizations, and a countless variety of individuals. He is known to be a gifted speaker, trainer and coach. He has coached at all levels in the organization, helped senior leadership teams with strategic development, team synergy, and building their executive presence.
