Bio

Dr. Darlene Brink was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brink received her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Old Dominion University. In addition to being a DNP-prepared registered nurse, Brink earned a certification in case management and is a board-certified nurse executive.

Brink has over 30 years of diverse nursing experience to include education, staff development, medical, surgical, vascular, home health, diabetes-patient education, utilization review, care coordination and management. Her goal is to consistently apply the nursing process utilizing evidence-based research in daily practice, while fostering a sincere desire for growth to improve the patient experience.

Brink chose to teach at Regent University due to their vision, mission, values and motto “Christian Leadership to Change the World.” One of her favorite scriptures is Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV), “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.”

Brink considers it a true honor to serve as a mentor for learners at Regent University.
