How to Refer a Struggling Student:
- Communicate with the student regarding why you are referring them and what areas they need help improving. While we send out a generic email to all students who are recommended, it is much more effective for the faculty member to contact the student before they submit the recommendation.
- Fill out the online recommendation form located below.
- Provide as much information as possible. The more information you provide, the better we can help the students you refer. It is not uncommon for recommended students to ask for assistance with one issue when a faculty member referred them for something else.
- Wait for a Response. After we receive the recommendation, we will confirm the receipt of the recommendation via email. At this point, you may indicate if and how you would like to be notified if the recommended student has appointments with the UWC.
How to Refer a Group of Students:
If you are referring multiple students for the same issue or assignment, you do not have to fill out an individual form for each student. Simply email a list of students along with the details of the assignment to email@example.com using the subject "Student Recommendations." If you have any special instructions or requirements, please indicate this in the email.
