Recording Audio & Video

Panopto, a video platform for sharing knowledge, enables Regent faculty to record, webcast, manage, and search all of their video content. Panopto is the go-to resource for creating lecture content with images for your courses. To familiarize yourself with Panopto, please visit our Panopto resource page.

YouTube is good for recording and sharing quick video announcement updates, for discussion board prompts, or for uploading short Whiteboard animations to gain and capture attention. Copy the embed code or provide the link to share in Blackboard.

star Before you start recording videos using Panopto or YouTube for your course, check out the “Recording Best Practices” guide.

Looking for professional quality audio recordings? Contact Media Services to schedule an on-campus audio recording session.

Finding Media

There are a variety of sources online for high quality, open source images: Getty Open Content, Flickr Commons, Britannica ImageQuest, Wiki Commons, NOAA Photo Library, and Google Images (choose “Usage rights” under “Search tools”). For PowerPoints or video, try to use images over 500px large.

For more tips, check out our Image Guide.

Explore the databases below for fair use videos to incorporate into your courses.
