He comes to the university with a wealth of experience as a teacher, writer, musician and pastor. In 2009, Edwards produced and sang on Margaret Becker's Christmas album Gift of Love. In 2005 and 2007, he received awards from nationally published Worship Leader Magazine for his singles "Holy Rain" and "Create in Me." He recently released Here With You, a solo album on the Maranatha Music/EMI record label. His latest album for Maranatha! Music, Heart Full of Soul was released in spring 2013.

The renowned worship leader has served as the managing editor of Worship Leader Magazine's, consumer publication The Worshiper, is a columnist for Rev! Magazine, and is a popular conference speaker. He is also an official spokesman for the Bible League, which is one of the world's largest evangelical, non-denominational Scripture placement agencies.

His critically acclaimed book WORSHIP 365 is a definitive text on transforming worship. He is also the author of Encountering God: 10 Ways to Experience His Presence, the Faithfully Yours Psalms series and the Worship Through The Seasons With God series, as well as general editor of the Holman CSB Personal Worship Bible.

Through Regent's International Center for Worship, Edwards hopes to help others gain a better understanding of worship and flourish in their calling.

"Regent University has the unique opportunity and is God-positioned for such a time as this to be the place where people can come from all over the world to be trained and equipped in the area of worship," Edwards says, "and thus, be sent out to add their voice and gifting to the rising chorus that 'Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.'"
