Request to Change Campus and/or Blocked/Not-blocked Tuition Status Form
Please read the following information carefully before accessing Blocked / Not-Blocked Designation Change Request forms below.
Blocked Tuition Designation— assigned to degree seeking students who intend to take classes primarily during the day in the traditional, full-semester format, popular with younger students (18-22 year olds).
Not- Blocked Tuition Designation— assigned to degree seeking students who intend to take classes primarily during the evening, on weekends or online in the 8-week format popular with adults and working professionals.
Impact on Financial Aid/ Tuition Charges
Changes from Blocked Tuition Designation to Not-Blocked Tuition Designation or vice versa will result in
a different tuition rate being applied to your account and
a change in your eligibility for school based scholarships and discounts.
Contact your financial aid counselor in the Central Financial Aid Office(757-352-4125) to discuss ramifications to your financial aid package.
Changes to your tuition designation will not be made for a semester once the semester has started. Submission Deadlines for each semester is as follows:
Submit Request form by:
August 1 for the Fall Semester
December 1 for the Spring Semester
April 1 for the Summer Semester
Upon receipt of your Online Blocked / Not-Blocked Tuition Designation Change Request Form, your Advisor will process your request and forward to the Financial Aid Office and then onto the Registrar's Office for final review and action. You will be notified of the action taken by the Registrar's Office. This process may take 4-5 business days
If approved, requested changes from Blocked to Not-Blocked Tuition Designation or vice versa will become effective after the end of the current term.
