Welcome to Regent University Law Library! The Law Library's primary purpose is to support the curricular, research, and technological needs of the faculty, students, and administration of the School of Law and the legal research needs of the Regent University community.
Current members of the law school community enjoy extended access to Law Library spaces and services via tap-card entry.
The Law Library is open to the larger Regent University community, alumni, the local bench and bar, legal researchers from other institutions, as well as members of the public during specified hours (generally from University Library opening until 7 p.m. each day). Access may be limited to law students during Reading Days, exams, etc.
All visitors are required to first register at the University Library Resource Desk and to then check-in at the Law Library Public Services Desk located on the 3rd Floor of the Library Building. Visitors must wear a visitor badge at all times. Regent students must wear or display their access card or Regent ID.

Guest Borrowing Privileges
Most of the Law Library's physical collection does not circulate. Alumni, members of the Virginia or North Carolina bar, local law librarians, and faculty/students at Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education (VTC) members institutions may establish a patron account, enabling them to borrow circulating items in keeping with the Law Library's Circulation Policy.
Noise and Use Policies
Visitors are asked to limit conversations in all Law Library spaces and to observe signage designating certain areas as "silent." Cell phones and other devices should be set to mute. Although individuals are permitted to use the Law Library for legal research purposes, group study is limited to law students in designated collaborative areas. Non-law Regent students seeking an exception to this policy should contact the Assistant Director for Public Services or the Head of Access Services.
Printing & Copying
Although a coin-operated copier and per-page printing options are available, visitors are encouraged to scan and save materials to personal cloud space. Regent students have access to the RU Computer Lab located in the Law Library.
Law librarians are available to assist visitors with locating and using law library resources. The Law Library faculty/staff cannot:
A law librarian is generally available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., during the academic year. Reference assistance is more limited during the summer and when the Law School is not in session.

Instructors who would like to conduct a legal research class or schedule a tour should contact the Assistant Director for Public Services at least two weeks in advance. Please keep in mind that no classes, tours, or similar events are permitted during the Law School exam period.
