The Certificate of Graduate Studies in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is an online program for teachers or individuals who have a desire to work with children and/or adults who are learning English as a second or foreign language. Designed as continuing education, TESOL Individuals pursuing English language teaching certification may consider positions in both domestic and international settings.

Application Process – TESOL Certificate

  1. Submit your online application. Please apply for Graduate level, then choose Online, Desired Program: Certificate of Graduate Studies in Education, Major: TESOL Certificate. Indicate the term you want to begin the course and Part-time.
  2. Pay your $25 application fee during the application process.
  3. Bachelor's Transcript - We are excited to offer you the service of requesting transcripts on your behalf using our Transcript Request Form.
  4. Complete Your Admissions Survey

In lieu of the previously required writing sample, please complete a brief admissions survey based on your professional goals and interests. This should only take a few minutes to complete but please answer the questions completely and thoughtfully. This gives us a better opportunity to get to know you and align your objects with our programs. The admissions survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CX2JRTS. Once completed, it will be sent directly to an enrollment counselor who will be in touch with you right away to help complete the rest of your application.

Note: A copy of current teaching license and six credit hours of foreign language at the graduate or undergraduate level recorded on an official transcript is required for TESOL applicants seeking endorsement in ESL PreK-12.
