Faculty

Jason Baker, Ph.D.

Associate Vice President of Teaching and Learning & Professor

Bio

Dr. Jason Baker is a professor of education and the advisor of the online education concentration in the Doctor of Education program. He previously worked as an educational consultant at Loyola College in Maryland where his efforts included training faculty on instructional technology, administering the internal technical training program, and managing the college's web presence.

He holds a Ph.D. in communication from Regent University, an M.A. in educational technology leadership from The George Washington University, a B.S. in electrical engineering from Bucknell University, and is currently pursuing a M.A. in religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has authored and edited Internet-related books and consulted with numerous organizations regarding the development and management of developing online learning programs.

Baker has three main spheres of interest: theology, education and technology. His research and practice in online learning has enabled him to focus on the intersection of these spheres. He's been involved in non-traditional education at a variety of levels and have both taken and taught online education classes using the Internet. Baker remains particularly excited to practice and teach in the area of online education through Regent's Ed.D. program. Since many of the courses are offered online, it's a unique opportunity to combine theory and practice, and serve the distance learner by providing a quality educational experience.
