Dr. Antipas L. Harris joined Regent University School of Divinity in 2008. He previously served as adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and as associate pastor at Christ Chapel New Testament Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Originally from Manchester, Georgia, Harris served in pastoral and music ministry at A House of the Living God, Church of Jesus Christ, where he received his first ministerial ordination.

Harris serves as associate director of the Doctor of Ministry Program. He teaches in the Master's degree programs and the Doctor of Ministry program. He has authored several books, articles and blogs. As a public theologian, he writes regularly as an op-ed writer in popular news outlets.

Harris is a practical theologian who is interested in the intersection of Church and society. His research includes theology of pastoral ministry, social holiness, preaching, urban ministry, cultural worship and spirituality, and personal empowerment. He is interested in interactive ministry teaching and learning through mentoring and coaching.

Harris also is an internationally known preacher, teacher and speaker. He is frequently invited to speak at churches, conferences, seminars and academic forums. Harris serves on several committees and boards, including the steering committee for Norfolk's Resilient Cities Initiative. He is a member of the Virginia Beach Public Schools Discipline Taskforce. He is a board member at Hampton Roads Committee of 200+ Men, Inc. and a board member at Mid-Atlantic Teen Challenge.

Harris has been granted several outstanding awards and achievements. Among them, he has been named to LaGrange College's Wall of Outstanding Alumni. In 2011, he was named among Inside Business' Top 40 under 40 of Hampton Roads. In 2012, he was named in the International Top 100 Magazine for his excellence in religious and community leadership. Dr. Harris also received the Regent University 2013 Faculty Award for Excellence in Service.
