Four years ago, when assistant school superintendent Gary Maestas was looking for a way to earn his doctorate in education while maintaining his position with the Plymouth, Massachusetts school system, he did what any passionate educator would do: his homework. "I really researched it," says Gary. "There was just nothing out there for someone who is a practitioner and can't spend time away." Then Gary read about Regent's doctoral program and distance learning options. Within months, Gary and Regent educators had designed a flexible, one-of-a-kind cohort program for doctoral candidates in and around Plymouth.
