Regent Ranks Among Top Higher Ed Institutions in Job Satisfaction
July 6, 2009
The results of The Chronicle of Higher Education's survey of Great Colleges to Work For 2009 were released July 6, with Regent ranking among the top ten colleges in the following categories for a "medium-sized" institution (3,000-9,999 students):
Physical Work-Space Conditions
Facilities and Security
Supervisor-Department Chair Relationship
Perception of and Confidence in Fair Treatment
The Great Colleges to Work For program recognizes institutions for best practices and policies in 26 categories for four-year colleges and in 15 categories for community colleges. Within those categories, colleges are classified based on enrollment. The survey results are based on responses from more than 41,000 administrators, faculty members and staff members at 300 colleges and universities.
"The Great Colleges to Work For program is designed to recognize higher education institutions that have built great workplaces," Martha Smith, vice president for human resources, says. "Regent's recognition as one of those institutions says that our people feel an emotional connection to the mission and purpose of the organization, and they feel confident they are treated fairly, particularly regarding compensation and performance. Those positive feelings impact the learning experiences of our students."
