Divinity & Religion: Ten Ways Regent University Library Supports Online School of Divinity Students
1.) Access the Regent University Library Online Public Catalog. Access the library online public catalog to find out what the Library has in its collections. Access is available at http://library.regent.edu/ on the web. Use the catalog to see what is available for checkout, which periodicals the library has, make a suggestion, or renew your books.
2.) Check Out Books and AV Materials Directly from Regent University Library. Check out books and audio-visual materials directly from the library collections by using Interlibrary Loan (Illiad). Access Illiad from the library homepage and select the book request form. The checkout period is six weeks, including travel time. Materials are sent by UPS or DHL free of charge and you need to return them using the same mail services.
3.) Access Course Reserve Materials Through the Library Electronic Reserve System. Access course-related materials on the web through the library electronic reserve system, ERes: http://reserve.regent.edu.
4.) Call the Library Reference Desk Toll-Free, Write an E-mail, or Live Chat. Call the library Reference Desk toll-free for reference service, 1-888-249-1822. Leave a message any time on voice mail. Messages are checked and answered promptly. If you prefer, use the Reference Desk e-mail service at reference@regent.edu. Live Chat is also available on the Ask a Librarian page on the Library website.
5.) Access Important Religion Databases and Other Databases Through the Library Databases and Online Indexes Homepage. Search significant religious and general-subject databases through the Library Databases & Online Indexes homepage menu at: http://www.regent.edu/lib/research/databases.cfm. These databases include the ATLA Religion Database, Christian Periodical Index, Religious Periodicals through ProQuest, New Testament Abstracts, Old Testament Abstracts, and several general subject databases such as WorldCat, Expanded Academic Index, Electric Library, LexisNexis Academic, and Factiva. Full-text religious articles are available through the ATLA Religion Database and Religious Periodicals / ProQuest databases.
Access Regent University full-text theses, dissertations and D.Min. projects through Digital Dissertations from the library Databases & Online Indexes homepage menu. Full-text downloads of all Regent dissertations and theses are available.6.) Request Photocopies of Journal Articles From the Library Interlibrary Loan Document Delivery Service. Request photocopies of full-text journal articles not found in the databases from the library Interlibrary Loan Services. Photocopied articles are sent as an attachment to an e-mail message or by U.S. mail. (See #2 for more information)
7.) Request reimbursement for a Local Library Card. The library will reimburse the cost of one local library card for all currently enrolled Regent University students living more than 90 miles away from campus. Prior to purchasing a local library card, contact librarian Marta Lee by e-mail or by phone at 757-352-4174. Mrs. Lee will provide information on the dollar amount that the library will reimburse you. Please investigate the cost of the library card that is desired before contacting Mrs. Lee. Assistance locating or using other libraries is available through the library Reference Desk.
8.) Access Key Electronic Resources, Library Guides, and Service Information. Access a variety of information resources, guides, and library service procedures on the Library homepage. Areas of special interest include:

10.) Take the Online Library Information and Resources Course. All new students must take the Regent University Library Information and Resources course, UNIV_LIB. Access the course online through Blackboard, the Regent University software delivery management program, at: http://blackboard.regent.edu/. The course comprises seven lessons covering library services and resources for Regent University students, using periodical databases, the web, and research methods.
