Library Book Club

In February, 2008 the University Library launched a book club for the Regent/CBN community. The goal of the Book Club is to be a resource that will bring readers together and encourage reading for enrichment and pleasure. Our reading list includes classics of western literature as well as non-western masterworks that support the Quality-Enhancement Plan on global competence. We read one book each month and then meet to discuss it with the aid of book-appropriate refreshments.

For more information about the Library Book Club, including meeting times and our online discussion forum on LibraryThing, contact Harold Henkel at 757-352-4198 or harohen@regent.edu.

In addition to meeting on campus, we also have our own private group on LibraryThing where we can discuss Book Club selections or anything else members are reading. LibraryThing is an amazing site that allows you to create an online catalog (complete with book jacket photos) of your personal collection and then compare it against other collections to find like-minded readers. We hope that Book Club members will find LibraryThing to be a valuable resource beyond its function as a platform for our online discussions. Please contact Harold Henkel to become a member of the Regent Readers group. (For more information on LibraryThing, check out the Wikipedia article).
