International Calling

Your supervisor must complete the Telephone Request Form to change the name on the phone and to order a new long distance code for your use. The long distance code will allow you to dial domestic long distance phone numbers, or with proper authorization, international phone numbers.

To use:

  1. Pick up your handset.
  2. Listen for dial tone. Press "9".
  3. Dial 011.
  4. Dial country code, city code, and phone number. (e.g. 41 22 730 5989)
  5. Hit pound sign (#).
  6. Listen for tones.
  7. Dial your authorization code followed by #.
  8. Wait for international connection to be completed. Note - Ringback tone is different than that of the US.
  9. If you have problems, double-check the country code and city code.
    10. Please check the country code as your source may include a leading "0" which MUST be omitted.
  10. Call the Help Desk at x4076 if you still experience an issue placing your call.
