How to Prepare for Upgrade
There are several things that you can do to prepare yourself for the Office 2007 / Exchange upgrade.
- Know that the Office 2007 / Exchange Upgrade portlet within MyRegent Portal (http://my.regent.edu) is the best place to get helpful information about this process.
- Read about the new Email Retention Policy.
- Find out the size of your current email folders.
- If your mailbox is over 500MB, you need to archive outdated email messages.
- Empty your Deleted Items Folder. (Click here to learn how)
- Prepare your email folders so they are compatible with the new system.
- Contact the Help Desk if you will be out of the office during your scheduled upgrade period.
- Contact the Help Desk if you use shared email accounts with others in your office or for specific functions.
- Contact the Help Desk if you use our current web-based calendar system at http://calendar.regent.edu and want the data migrated to the new system.
- An Administrative supervisor should send the Help Desk a list of all current GAs for the school or department.
- An Administrative supervisor should send the Help Desk a list of all current Adjunct Faculty for the school.
