DATABASES 

The following databases and indexes are available to Regent University faculty, students, and staff.  If you are accessing the databases from off campus, you will be prompted for your Regent University E-mail login ID and password.  If you do not know your login ID and password please contact Regent University Computer Services at 757-352-4076.

ABI/Inform  Provides full-text coverage from over 1,000 journals on US and International business and management. Includes full-text and graphics for over 500 journals.    Coverage from 1971 to present.  Use as a first resource for any general business or management topic.  Tips for Using ABI/Inform  

Associations Unlimited Covers 22,000 US national associations, 20,000 international organizations, 102,000 US, regional, state, and local associations, and 300,000 nonprofit organizations.  

Business Index ASAP & Backfile   Business and management periodicals, trade/industry journals, scholarly journals, local area titles, popular business magazines, and newspapers. Use for general business and management articles.

Factiva    A Dow Jones database. Provides in-depth news coverage, journal articles, and company profiles, including financial information. Can also do company/industry comparison reports.  How to use Factiva

LexisNexis Academic Comprehensive resources for business, news, politics and government, medical information, legal information, case law, U.S. and state codes, biographical information, and accounting and tax information. Includes nearly 5,000 publications ranging from newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statutes, federal regulations, and SEC filings.  News is updated daily. Especially good for news articles, transcripts, marketing information (country profiles, state profiles), legal information.   Tips for Using LexisNexis Academic

National Center for Charitable Statistics
An excellent resource for statistics, many files can be downloaded.

National Charities Information Bureau
Designed to promote informed giving.

National Council of Nonprofit Associations
Represents over 40 state and regional associations.

Nonprofit Career Network
A good resource for exploring job opportunities in the non-profit sector.

NonProfit Gateway
Links to Federal government information.

Nonprofit Managers' Library
Very good listing of resources.

The Non-Profit Resource Center
John Farino, a CPA, has put together a good set of links to accounting standards and government regulations for non-profits.

The Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management
Of special interest are the Discovery Center and "Leader to Leader" articles.

The Society for Nonprofit Organizations
Promotes the non-profit sector through education and research. Online publications include "Nonprofit World" and "Funding Alert."

TGCI - The Grantsmanship Center
Good information on funding sources and news articles.

ONLINE JOURNALS

American Philanthropy Review (CharityChannel.com)
Includes career resources, discussion forum, book reviews, and an excellent search engine for non-profit organizations.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy
"The Newspaper of the Non-Profit World" offers articles, links, and other resource information.

Non-Profit Nuts & Bolts Publishing
Provides how-to information for the non-profit manager.

The NonProfit Times
