LOCATING FINANCIAL RATIOS

Financial ratios can assess the strengths and weaknesses of the industry.
For industry financial ratios, use the following print resources:

RMA Annual Statement Studies (Ref HF5681.B2.R6)
Financial Ratio Analyst (Ref HF5681.R25.F56x)
Almanac of Business and Industrial Financial Ratios (Ref HF5681.R25.T68)

The following databases and indexes are available to Regent University faculty, students, and staff.  If you are accessing the databases from off campus, you will be prompted for your Regent University E-mail login ID and password.

These databases will provide company ratios or company to industry ratios.

Factiva    A Dow Jones database. Provides in-depth news coverage, journal articles, and company profiles, including financial information. Can also do company/industry comparison reports.  How to use Factiva

LexisNexis Academic Select Business, select Company, select Company Financials.  Select Standard and Poor's Corporate Descriptions or Disclosure Reports for financial profiles.

Standard and Poors Select Corporation Records, select Full Report for a comprehensive profile of the company.

In addition to databases, association can often provide industry ratios.  Look at
Associations Unlimited to find associations affiliated with your industry.

You can find some industry financial ratios on the Internet.

Do an Internet search, by using as keywords the name of your industry and the term financial ratios. For example, "telecommunications industry" and "financial ratios."
