Come together @ your library: How does the Regent University Library or Law Library 'come together' with your academic endeavors?
The Regent University Library comes together with my academic endeavors through the access it provides to a reservoir of knowledge far beyond the classroom and campus. It is like a dammed up reservoir where the floodgates can be opened to release controlled amounts of information and synthesized knowledge as required. Early in the term, the research librarians come together with students as they draw an hour of database search and narrow down a broad topic through a literature review. Throughout the term, professors and classmates share snippets of information to which they have been exposed. Students can dive in and swim through the broad waters to strengthen their personal knowledge. They can transform their minds from shelf collections and interlibrary loans as they come together with the catalog search and circulation desk. During the drought of the final weeks of the term when papers are coming due, large amounts of information can be tapped to satisfy the increased thirst for knowledge that will produce a harvest of research papers. Adjunct faculty and distance students come together with library resources through the internet pipeline that brings the flow of knowledge right into the cistern of their own home. At other times students come together with the library in the quiet and peaceful environment of still waters that allow them to concentrate and focus their energies. We can come together with resources far beyond our own in the knowledge reservoir of the Regent University Library and staff, to God's glory and honor!
