NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK - April 13-19, 2008

Announcing the 2008 Library Essay Contest in celebration of National Library Week,
April 13-19!  Entries are being accepted from Regent University students on
the following topic:

How would you persuade your fellow students
to use the Regent University Libraries?

Entries may take the form of one of the following:

1) A written essay of no more than 250 words
- OR -
2) A video no more than 2 minutes in length,
with credits posted online
(e.g. YouTube, GodTube, Blip.tv, etc.)

A video camera and other equipment may be checked out from the Library Circulation Desk. Video editing software is also available on the three Mac computers in the Verizon Media Lab on the Library's first floor.

All written and video entries are due by Noon EDT on Monday, April 7, 2008.

1st place prize (essay): $150 cash
1st place prize (video): $150 cash
2nd place prize (essay or video): $50 cash
3rd place prize (essay or video): $25 Amazon.com gift certificate
Honorable Mention (essay or video): $10 Amazon.com gift certificate

Entries will be judged on adherence to the topic and writing/artistic ability. The winning entry will be announced and read or shown during a National Library Week event and displayed in the library electronic newsletter, Library Link.
