Description: Participants will learn the basic components essential for performing successfully in Blackboard 9.1. Such topics as Bb 9.1 layout, personalizing your course in Bb 9.1, means of communication with students, managing its Grade Center and many more are addressed in this training. Description: See how Wimba Live Classroom allows same-time interactions among students and instructor. If you teach face-to-face, your students may want to participate in group work through web-conferencing. Or, you can have experts from the field interact with students. For online courses and optional meetings, synchronous meetings help people feel connected. Come and bring your questions in a short face-to-face workshop.
Other Information: This session will introduce Wimba Live Classroom and the most commonly used features of the program. Participants will get the chance to experiment with the software and investigate how they can use it in their courses.

Description: Session One of Course Conversion Initiative training sessions.
This is both an informational AND a hands-on session. Participants will learn the rationale and time-saving benefits for using the Regent syllabus and standard course template in their courses. This session provides: (a) an overview on how to design, develop and evaluate your Bb course deployment, (b) benefits of using the Course Planning Matrix, and (c) how to create and upload assignments to the content system. This course is available to all faculty, faculty assistants, and staff.
Prior to coming to class: (a) watch the video tutorials found at the Course Conversion Initiative page, (b) download the Course Planning Matrix found there, (c) bring with you the course ID of the course you will be working on. If this course does not already have a development shell associated with it, you will be able to order such shell during this class.
Other Information: This course is a prerequisite for Session Two of the Course Conversion Initiative training sessions. Part II is also a "hands on" session and will be held the week following Session One.
