Redesigning Humanity? A Review of Transhumanism

Tuesday, September 12, 2017
5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

Please join us for an exciting talk by Tao Tang, former vice president of Ratio Christi at Regent University, entitled "Redesigning Humanity? A Review of Transhumanism".

We are living in an exciting time when artificial intelligence is ubiquitous as self-driving cars start roaming the streets. The downsides of high tech-powered life, however, are obvious: privacy, job replacement, physical disconnectedness, etc. Also, a more profound transformation has been quietly taking place: the move toward the 'singularity' of machine and man — a point where technology and humanity become indistinguishable. We will examine the evolution of this trend, discuss the current popular philosophies that are steering the direction of our future, and explore countering this trend with theologically grounded arguments and strategies.

There will be a time of discussion after the presentation. Don't miss it.
