Position: Lead Female Vocalist and/or Pianist

Church: Galilee Episcopal Church

 

Galilee Episcopal Church, located on the Virginia Beach oceanfront, is looking for an experienced lead female vocalist and/or pianist to join our praise band during the 9:00am contemporary service.  Qualified candidates will have a passion for praise and worship in a contemporary setting with excellent musical skills and a humble heart.  Rehearsals are held every Thursday night, from 6:45-8:30.  Sunday commitment is from 8:00-10:30am.  If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity, please send an email to Kevin Marshall @ info@marshalladvisory.com.

 


Position: Praxis Internship Resident

Church: Hope Church (Richmond, VA)

 

Praxis is defined as “the practice and practical side of a profession or field of study, as opposed to the theory”. In other words, it is taking what you learned in school (theory) and putting it into practice through real life applications. That’s our goal with the Praxis program. We want to take you where you are and grow you to the next level before entering full-time ministry.

PROGRAM DETAILS

 

Praxis is a full-time internship designed for talented, highly capable individuals who plan to serve in vocational ministry and feel called to the local church. Residents will spend 10 months in a structured learning environment that will sharpen and equip them for a life-time of catalytic ministry.  Praxis residents should expect to grow in practical tools for leadership and ministry, in personal tools for development and growth, and in relational tools for influence and communication over a career in ministry. There may also be opportunities to earn seminary credit over the course of the program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Ideal candidates to the Praxis program will:

- Have completed their seminary degree or have a college degree combined with ministry experience, either paid or volunteer

- Feel called to ministry and will have demonstrated a high level of excellence in their area of interest

- Have a proven track record as a strong leader, yet interested in deepening and broadening this experience

- Expect to be stretched personally, professionally and relationally as they experience vocational ministry alongside of their department leader and senior members of Hope’s staff

 

Other qualifications include: 

• A growing relationship with Christ

• Commitment to Hope’s vision and mission,

• A team player with a heart to serve

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Some ministry or seminary experience preferred (varies by department)

• The ability to flex with a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Self-Starter

 

MINISTRY AREAS:

 

Although every resident will cross-pollinate across all ministry areas at Hope Church, residents should also specify a track in the following areas: Pastoral Leadership/Church Planting, Worship Arts, Discipleship, Student Ministry, or Children’s Ministry. Applicants can specify a secondary area of interest.

 

The program runs from August 14, 2014-June 12, 2015.

Position: Worship Leader

ROLE SUMMARY

The Worship Leader engages and leads the congregation in Christ centered, Holy Spirit led worship on Sunday mornings. It is expected for the worship leader to be responsible for training and shepherding the band and overseeing the worship portions of the services, including the musical selection and arrangements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated musical skill and theological discernment

• Passionate about personally and corporately enjoying God in worship.

• Strength in leadership for the church and bands

• Possess a good influence, verbal communication skills, and cultural awareness.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Vocal and Musical Ability

• Proven success at multi-tasking, time management, organization.

• Ability to handle sensitive issues, and maintain confidentiality and trust regarding leader and member information.

• Proven ability to work with and maintain positive, loyal relationships with those inside and outside the church.

• Love for Jesus and a desire to see people changed by the gospel.

• Accurately incorporates scripture in worship services.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead/Oversee Sunday worship service, which includes:

• Weekly practice with the band.

• Selecting songs and arrangement for service.

• Lead worship for holidays and special events (concerts/outreach, etc.)

• Participate with the weekly staff planning.

 

 

Schedule: Flexible

Hours: 10 - 15 hr per week

Church Location: Strawbridge Regal Cinema, 2133 General Booth Blvd.,VB

Church Size: 250 avg weekly attendance

Compensation:  $200 - $250 per week

Position: Youth Leader Intern

Church: Acts 2 Church


Description

The Youth Leader Intern will be exposed to all aspects of leadership in youth ministry (grades 6-12). He/she will need to build meaningful relationships with the students in our youth group. Acts 2 Church places a priority on small-group ministry, concentrating on one-on-one relationship training, mentoring, and discipleship. The Intern will be responsible for developing and encouraging the youth in their walk with Christ and leading in grace and truth. The Youth Leader Intern will be expected to help plan, coordinate and carry out weekly group ministry programs, while developing individual relationships with the students.

Qualifications

  1. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
  2. A demonstrated commitment to helping young people develop their personal spiritual relationship with Christ
  3. A willingness to commit to the mission and vision of Acts 2 Church.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession, and fellowship at Acts 2 Church.
  2. Direct all weekly activities of the youth ministry at Acts 2 Church.
  3. Set annual goals for the youth ministry that are in line with the church vision and conduct proper assessment of the goals on a regular basis.

Important Specifics

This paid internship position is a year-round position. The intern is expected to be here for a minimum of two school years. It is also important for the intern to be present and active in the life of the church.

Compensation

This part-time (10 hours/week) position pays $100/week.

Position: Children's/Youth Leader Intern

Church: Bethel Worship Center

Description

The Children's/Youth Leader Intern will be exposed to all aspects of leadership in youth ministry. He/she will need to build meaningful relationships with the students in our youth group. Bethel Worship Center's (BWC) youth ministry is primarily focused on building these relationships with our youth with leaders that model the Christian life and earn the right to be heard by individual kids as well as the entire group. The Intern will be responsible for developing and encouraging the youth in their walk with Christ and leading in grace and truth.

The Children's/Youth Leader Intern will be expected to help plan, coordinate and carry out ministry programs (e.g., organize games and other fun activities for kids, encourage and coordinate volunteer leaders in the ministries of the program, and prepare Biblical teaching that is relevant for where our students are in life).

Our hope is that through this program, our intern would:

  • Develop as a Christian leader
  • Gain valuable professional and work experience
  • Contribute valuably to a critical ministry of Bethel Worship Center

Important Specifics

The internship position runs for the course of the school year. The intern is expected to be here for at minimum one school year. The dates are somewhat flexible, but it is particularly important for the intern to be present and active in the life of the church.
