Information to Know
-
Telephone: Regent Commons telephone service is provided by Cox Communications.
Each resident is responsible for his or her own telephone service if it is desired. Cox is the only telephone company that provides services to Regent Commons. To order telephone service, call 757.222.1111 or visit www.cox.com/hr
. Contact Cox for all phone service issues.
-
Internet Services: Wired and Wireless available to students.
At Regent Commons, the Internet service is included in the monthly rental rate and is provided by Cox Communications. The wireless capability will be accessible on campus as well.
-
Cable TV
Each apartment has cable TV already active in each room, and all that is needed is a coaxial cable. The coaxial cable can be purchased at the Regent University Bookstore. Contact the Regent Commons Housing Office at 757.352.4890 with additional questions.
-
Intercom
Regent Commons is locked 24 hours 7 days a week for the safety of students. Your visitors must ring your apartment on the intercom when visiting you and, therefore, will need to know your apartment number. A directory is available so that visitors may scroll to locate the appropriate apartment. Once your apartment number is visible, the "CALL" button should be pressed to ring your apartment telephone. You will not need a land line to use this function, however, you must provide your own phone (an inexpensive telephone should work just fine) and plug it into the telephone outlet. You may talk to the visitor through your intercom phone.
To see who is visiting you, simply turn your television to channel #46 when your intercom phone rings. Press 9 on the telephone after lifting the handset to allow visitor access.
For the safety of all residents you should never allow anyone access to the building that you do not know.
Please contact the Regent Commons Management Office if you require additional instructions on operating the intercom system.
