Sr. Director of Fundraising Development

Substance Abuse Counselor

Description: The Salvation Army is seeking a substance abuse counselor for our Northern Virginia Adult Rehabilitation Center, a residential program for adult men located in Alexandria, VA (near Annadale). Responsibilities include:
- Providing counseling services to individuals and groups for a case load of approximately 25 clients
- Assisting with program development and implementation
- Developing and reviewing rehabilitation plans for each case
- Maintaining documentation and progress notes for each case
- Participating in case conference meetings and sharing case goals and progress
- Providing networking and referral development
This position is full time working Monday through Friday. Hours are flexible but candidates must be available to work a couple of evenings per week until approximately 8:30 p.m. to lead groups. Salary is low 30's - mid 40's depending on education and experience.
Requirements: Minimum of one year experience providing individual and group counseling to adult substance abusers. Masters degree and substance abuse
certification in VA is preferred.
