This session is for those new to alumni relations and those wanting a refreshing overview. It will include a panel discussion covering:

  • Chapters, Clubs, and Affinity Groups
  • Career Services
  • Planning Events

Shuttle will be available to and from Founder's Inn from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

This dinner will provide an opportunity for attendees to reconnect with their local alumni as part of the conference. Please feel free to invite any alumni that you would like to cultivate relationships with. The cost will be $9 per person and will be charged to each individual school based on the number of attendees. Menu will be Southern BBQ style. Final RSVP deadline for alumni attendees is Friday, July 11, 2008. Please email attendee names and or questions to mmcgrath@regent.edu. Nametags will be provided. Cost for alumni professional is covered in the conference fees - additional charges will only be assessed for guests.

Feel the need for speed? Get to know your alumni colleagues in a speed networking session. You will have 90 seconds to give a snapshot, so come prepared with your business cards and your "Top Ten Tidbits" that make your alumni program run smoothly.

Note: Please bring your t-shirts to this session to be displayed for the t-shirt exchange.

In this session, learn about and discuss alumni referral programs and techniques to increase enrollment and enhance the alumni/admissions connection.

Bring your best ideas! This is a no-holds-barred session for the ideas maniac. Come prepared to give a 30-second commercial for each event you'd like to share. If you're planning to participate, please email a 1/2 page summary of your event to mmcgrath@regent.edu. At the end of the conference, all attendees will receive a copy of the events that were discussed.

Wait! This is not just another session on the selection and/or availability of online communities! Here we want to unveil best practices for marketing your existing communities and engaging alumni in your online offerings. Calling experts and beginners alike! Be ready to share your do's and don'ts for reaching your alumni. What piques alumni interest? What keeps them coming back? How do you keep them from getting frustrated? What unique marketing ploys have you utilized? What problems and/or frustrations have you encountered? Etc. Etc. Let's collaborate!

I: Volunteer Relations - Laying a Strong Foundation

Presenter: Rhonda Miller, Volunteer Services, Consultant and Trainer

Do your alumni volunteers drive good events? Or do they drive you crazy? Find out how to lay a strong foundation for volunteer resources that will bring value to your university and to them. This is applicable to alumni chapters, associations, boards, class agents, student ambassadors, and any venue where you utilize volunteers.

II: They Don't Fit the Profile! - Reaching Non-Traditional Alumni

Panelists: Selection of students and alumni from Regent University's non-traditional programs (i.e. international, distance, graduate, etc.)

It's a mystery, but it can be solved! Piece together clues and discover ways to reach your online-only, international, and graduate/doctoral-level alumni. Have the opportunity to receive feedback straight from the source during this Q&A and idea swap session.

Join co-executive producer Lorene Wales to view the film, First Landing, written, directed, and produced at Regent University and CBN for the 400th anniversary celebration of the first landing at Jamestown, VA. Enjoy an introduction and a time of Q&A with the producer and take a tour of the Communications building's production facilities.
