Understanding Disabilities
A person with a disability is defined as any person who:
- Has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activities*
- Has a record of such impairment, or
- Is regarded as having such impairment
*Major life activities include, but are not limited to: seeing, hearing, speaking, moving, working, performing manual tasks, or learning.
These limitations may be visible or invisible, but they must be documented. Regent University will provide reasonable accommodation to the known physical and mental limitations of a qualified individual with a disability, unless to do so would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the university.
For more complete information, you are encouraged to review the disability services policies and procedures in the Student Handbook.
