Imagery of Regent people and campus

  Spoken Word Initiative                       Progress: Complete

Little else is more powerful than when the people of God gather to pray together, worship together, serve together, and read the Word together. As many of you may remember, last year Regent University students, staff, and faculty, as well as CBN employees were invited to participate in an around-the-clock Bible reading plan during the week leading up to the Chapel's Grand Opening ceremony.

This event began on Thursday, April 10th and ended Thursday, Aprill 17th. The entire Bible was read aloud throughout the week, bringing the Regent community together as they listened to the word of God. This event will happen again in the Spring Semester.

What is the Spoken Word Initiative?

Spoken Word is an initiative that seeks to completely read the Word of the Lord as a community from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. The Scripture is read aloud not silently.

What is the heart behind it?

The heart behind Spoken Word is to develop greater intimacy with God, speak truth over the campus, and grow together as a family. We believe that there is power in both orating Scripture and listening to it. Putting God's Word in our mouths may be the most effective way of putting it in our hearts. If we give ear to the words of life, in the listening we will hear the voice of our heavenly Father as He speaks directly to our hearts.

Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success"
