LIFE Groups are small groups designed to provide a place for students to go for a deeper level of connection with one another. We follow the Acts 2:42-43 model:
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
Community is at the heart of the Christian life and Jesus himself says that "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them". Campus Ministries desires for students to be involved in community, which is the reasoning behind Regent's Discipleship model. For our model of Discipleship, there are four parts.
Life Group Members (LGM)
Every person, whether on campus or commuting, will be given the opportunity to be a part of a Life Group.
Life Group Leaders (LGL)
All LGM's will have two Life Group Leaders who host and lead the LG every week. Discussion of scripture, praying together, worship, and friendship are all essential parts of each and every Life Group.
Life Group Captains (LGC)
Since the Discipleship program believes that all people need someone to disciple them and be accountable to, all Life Group Leaders have a Life Group Captain who oversees their group. The role of a Captain is to support, cheering on, and give spiritual direction for LGL's so that they can best serve LGM's.
Discipleship Coordinator (DC)
The Discipleship Coordinator for Campus Ministries, Rev. Sara Carrara Di Fuccia, oversees student Life Groups and leads other discipleship groups and initiatives open to the Regent community. She is responsible for the training, coaching, and mentoring of students, leaders, and apprentices who desire to serve in a greater capacity in Campus Ministries or who wish to deepen their walk with Christ.
