Director of Campus Ministries

As Director of Campus Ministries, Dr. Richard Kidd hopes to see the growth of a "Barnabas" style ministry. "Barnabas was the guy in the Bible who came alongside others and encouraged people to do what God had called them to do," he explains. The Apostle Paul, his most famous protégé, ended up more renowned and accomplished than Barnabas.

Kidd believes that Campus Ministries is about looking for evidence of what God is up to in students' lives and giving them room to do what they have been gifted and called to do. Like the spotter for a world-class gymnast, or a talent scout for a major league baseball franchise, he believes that Regent is to provide support and prepare opportunities for others to shine.

Ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Kidd brings to campus a background in local church ministry. He earned a B.A. in history from The College of William and Mary and a Master's of Divinity with honors from Trinity International University. Kidd also took classes from Regent's School of Divinity. He completed his Doctorate of Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary with an emphasis in planting healthy communities that develop healthy disciples.

In his spare time, Kidd enjoys playing volleyball, tennis, and golf, reading espionage and thriller novels, and escaping the office "PC" for his beloved Mac. You might find him sampling area restaurants with his wife, Bridget, playing soccer with his sons or visiting Colonial Williamsburg with his history buff daughter.
